SafeSport

As a member club of US Ski and Snowboard and under the umbrella of the USOC, CVA recognizes the importance of the SafeSport initiative. As it states: We all have a role to play in creating a healthy setting for sport. SafeSport helps raise awareness about misconduct in sport, promotes open dialogue, and provides training and resources. When we work as a team, we can build a game plan to make sport safe for everyone. CVA is committed to the health, safety, and well-being of each of our athletes.

Updated training is available through the SafeSport website. Courses range from 15 - 30 minutes. We encourage all families to utilize the free educational training.

A KEY CVA PARTNER: THE SUGARLOAF SKI CLUB

One of CVA’s most important partners is the Sugarloaf Ski Club; a cornerstone of the Sugarloaf community and a driving force behind youth snowsports in Maine. The mission of the Sugarloaf Ski Club is to provide the opportunity for all youth to participate and excel in skiing and snowboarding, promote community-building events, support competition, and preserve the history and heritage of the mountain.

Why Join?
We strongly encourage all CVA families to become members of the Ski Club. Membership supports the future of skiing and riding at Sugarloaf and helps create opportunities for CVA student-athletes through:
  • Generous scholarship opportunities for tuition, competition, and travel
  • Community events that bring athletes and families together
  • Preservation of the Sugarloaf legacy for generations to come
