At Home in the Carrabassett Valley
Carrabassett Valley is home to Sugarloaf Mountain, standing at 4,237 feet, making it one of Maine's tallest peaks and the largest ski area east of the Rocky Mountains. The resort offers 1,360 developed skiable acres and 176 trails, including an Olympian-designed Cross course and the only lift-serviced, above tree line skiing and riding in the East. Additionally, Carrabassett Valley boasts over 80 miles of groomed trails connecting four backcountry eco-lodges for Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and fat tire biking, all open to the public at no charge.
In warmer weather, enjoy a round at Sugarloaf’s renowned golf course, named Maine's best by Golf Digest, or explore nearly 100 miles of mountain bike trails. The region also offers opportunities for boating, paddling, and fishing on Flagstaff Lake, the 740-mile Northern Forest Canoe Trail, and various ponds, rivers, and streams. For hiking enthusiasts, the Appalachian Trail is just outside our door. Carrabassett Valley has something for everyone!
