Camps

Carrabassett Valley Academy provides training camps in many ski and snowboard disciplines including Alpine, Backcountry, Freestyle, Ski Cross, and Snowboard disciplines. These training camps are for competitive student-athletes. Whether it's an on-snow camp at the world-class training venues of Sugarloaf Mountain, or a camp at training venues around the world, CVA offers individualized coaching to prepare athletes physically and mentally to compete at their personal best.

Alpine Camps

Carrabassett Valley Academy is proud to offer a variety of Alpine Racing training camps at Sugarloaf Mountain and at training venues around the world. Camps provide student-athletes with a strong foundation to get a head start on the competition. We invite student-athletes from any club to come learn from the some of the best coaches in the US, make friends, and enjoy the CVA experience.

  • Norway Alpine Summer Camp 2024

    This unique experience offers 9 days of the best snow for summer ski training in Juvass, Norway for the emerging U12 & U14 athletes with prior racing experience. This glacier, 6 hours north of Oslo, is a home training site for the Norwegian National Team and many other Scandinavian teams and ski clubs. The camp will focus on fundamental skills, Slalom and Giant Slalom technical and tactical elements, with daily video and individualized evaluations. Athletes outside CVA Academy and Weekend Programs should contact Jon Wagner or Ron Bonnevie prior to registering and will need a coach's recommendation from their current racing program.

    *Airfare to be paid separately through Winter Park Travel. Projected cost is $1300.

    Cancellation Policy: Cancellations submitted 30 days prior to departure will be considered for a partial refund. Up to 20% may be retained to cover administrative and unrecoverable costs associated with the trip.
  • Alpine Immersion Program 2024-2025

    The CVA Alpine Immersion Program supports youth ski racing progression in a fun and safe environment that fosters a life-long love of the sport. The Immersion Program utilizes a fundamentals-based ski curriculum to develop skills and habits for future success in ski racing. Each session includes Academic time for student-athletes to maintain the emphasis on academics. The CVA Alpine Immersion program is a great opportunity for racers to improve quickly and determine if they are ready to take the next step and join the Academy.

  • Alpine FullStrive Program 2024-2025

    The CVA FullStrive Program is designed to supplement the  weekend program. Each session of FullStrive focuses on foundational drills, gate training, and video review.

Backcountry Camps

CVA Backcountry is the leader in backcountry skiing and snowboarding education for middle and high school students. We provide camps in off-piste skiing skills, avalanche education, and ski mountaineering.

    Join the only academy program in the United States where young athletes can be immersed in the backcountry environment learning crucial skills for a lifetime love of the mountains. Learn about equipment, technique, avalanche assessment, and strategies for ski mountaineering expeditions.

Freestyle Camps

If you are an athlete interested in moguls or freeski (park and pipe), a CVA camp is for you. As the sport of freestyle skiing has evolved, so has the way in which these student-athletes train. With a focus on development and performance, CVA offers training camps to help freestyle student-athletes reach their optimal performance.

  • Freestyle Moguls Camp 2025

    The CVA Moguls camp provides 3 days of on-snow and dryland training utilizing the B Moguls training venue at Sugarloaf Mountain and the Anti-Gravity Complex’s indoor trampoline in Carrabassett Valley. Athletes will have the opportunity to fine-tune turns and lines, achieve more speed, and improve stance and balance while jumping in a focused training environment. Athletes will have dedicated academic time to work on assignments from their home school, and lunch will be provided daily.

Snowboard Camps

More than 25 years ago, CVA was the first academy to develop a program specifically for snowboarders and continues to be one of the leading snowboard academies. Our student-athletes compete in boardercross racing, snowboard alpine racing, and freestyle. Our camps teach solid fundamentals and correct techniques, allowing student-athletes to build confidence while riding at Maine's Sugarloaf Mountain.

  • Snowboard Racing Camp 2025

    Start the season with a strong foundation and get a head start on the competition with the CVA Snowboard Race Camp at Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine.

    Train with Academy coaches and former US Snowboard Racing Team member, Sasha Jansujwicz ’24. Join our Waxing Workshop with Chuck Gerry, waxing technician assisting the U.S. Snowboard Team, and compete with CVA coaching support at the USASA Maine Mountain Series GS/SL race at Sugarloaf.

Ski Cross Camps

Train alongside CVA Academy student-athletes that compete on the World's stage. CVA is the top Ski Cross program in the East, featuring an Olympian-designed cross course, the rugged terrain of Sugarloaf Mountain, and a world-class coaching team.

  • SX Training Camp 2025

    Get a head start on the competition with the CVA Ski Cross Camp at Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine. Train with Academy coaches on one of the best courses in the East. Focus on the technical progression of ski cross skills, gate training, and start and mid-course feature training. Complete the week by participating in the USASA Maine Mountain Series SX/BX event at Sugarloaf while being coached by our world-class coaching staff.
