CVA Student Council: Leading with Spirit and Purpose
The CVA Student Council plays a vital role in shaping school life and community culture. As a student-run organization, the Council represents the ideas, interests, and voices of the student body while working collaboratively with school officials to help guide policies, events, and initiatives that make CVA such a dynamic place to learn and grow.
Throughout the school year, Student Council members meet weekly to plan, promote, and host a variety of community-based events and activities that strengthen school spirit and bring Big Dogs together. From organizing social gatherings and fundraisers to representing student perspectives in decision-making, these leaders demonstrate dedication, creativity, and teamwork in everything they do.
The election process itself reflects the leadership and confidence CVA students are known for. Seniors ran for Council leadership positions last spring, with each candidate delivering a campaign speech outlining their goals, ideas, and vision for the year ahead. This fall, students in grades 6 through 11 took their turn, running for class representative positions. Candidates gave speeches in front of the entire school, sharing why they wanted to serve and how they hoped to contribute to the CVA community. The student body then cast their votes, electing peers who will lead with enthusiasm, integrity, and school pride.
This year’s newly elected Student Council is ready to make a difference, bringing fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and a shared commitment to making CVA the best it can be.
