Aidan Butler ’26 Named September Community Member of the Month
Congratulations to Aidan Butler ’26, our September Community Member of the Month! Aidan has truly stepped up as a leader this fall. He’s the one raising the flag every morning, helping out at orientation, making sure everyone feels welcome, and even re-parking a student’s car to keep things lined up just right!
Aidan also volunteered his time on Saturdays to help Tristy with athletics and is always willing to lend a hand to classmates with schoolwork. Aidan’s the kind of person who’s always looking out for others, and we’re lucky to have him in our community!
Penny Riotte ’29 Named September Athlete of the Month
Congratulations to Penny Riotte ’29, our September Athlete of the Month! Penny has shown exceptional dedication and steady progress early in the season, setting a strong tone for the year ahead.
This fall, Penny made remarkable improvements in her athletic performance, dropping a full minute from her mile time. She also successfully qualified her back tuck into water, a major step in her mogul skiing progression and a key milestone toward performing the skill on snow this winter. Penny’s commitment to both fitness and skill development embodies what it means to be a CVA athlete. Way to go, Penny!

A Big Dog thank you to D'Ellies for donating gift card prizes and featuring our student spotlight recipients on their wall at Sugarloaf.
Dear CVA Community, This month, we welcomed our Winter Term students to campus, with more than half joining us for the first time. It was energizing to see the campus full, and even more impressive to watch our new students step confidently into the CVA experience. After settling in, our teams traveled across the country and around the world, starting their seasons.
The walls are up on Carrabassett Valley Academy’s new High Performance Center, marking an exciting milestone in this transformative project. This state-of-the-art facility will unite strength training, mental performance, and rehabilitation under one roof, giving Big Dogs the space to train side by side and reach their full potential.
CVA is thrilled to welcome Coach Justin Clark as our new Freestyle Weekend Program Manager! Justin has been deeply connected to Sugarloaf and the Eastern Freestyle community since the mid-90s.
