CVA Student-Athletes Gear Up for Winter

Carrabassett Valley Academy student-athletes have been hard at work this fall, sharpening their skills and building momentum for the competitive season ahead.
CVA Alpine FIS athletes took their training to Europe, spending time at one of the continent’s premier indoor ski facilities in Landgraaf, Netherlands. The Big Dogs focused on refining racing technique and perfecting gate timing to ensure they’re primed for a strong winter season. The group also took the time to explore Aachen, Germany—admiring its magnificent medieval cathedrals and wandering the city’s historic cobblestone streets.

Meanwhile, CVA’s Freestyle athletes are dialing in their tricks and building confidence for the upcoming season. Mogul skiers have been training on the water ramps, while the freeski Big Dogs have been soaring on the airbag. A series of fall training trips has given them more reps, more confidence, and the readiness to hit the snow running when winter arrives.

As temperatures drop and the first flakes fall, CVA athletes will bring the focus, discipline, and momentum from their fall training into a full season of competition. Whether carving gates, flying off jumps, or mastering moguls, they’re ready to represent CVA with skill, determination, and Big Dog energy all winter long.
