CVA is pleased to announce several coaching additions and leadership updates across the Alpine and Freestyle programs for the coming year. These changes strengthen athlete development pathways and reinforce collaboration between the Weekend Program and Academy teams.
CVA is excited to welcome Adam Chadbourne to the Women’s FIS Alpine staff alongside Kirk Dwyer. Adam brings more than three decades of elite coaching experience, including leadership roles with the U.S. Ski Team, Burke Mountain Academy, Waterville Valley Academy, Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, and Ski and Snowboard Club Vail. Over the course of his career, he has coached athletes who went on to become Olympic medalists, World Champions, and World Cup winners, including Ted Ligety, Andrew Weibrecht, Steven Nyman, and Mikaela Shiffrin during her breakout first FIS season. His experience and athlete-centered approach will be a valuable addition to the Women’s FIS program and the broader alpine community.
The Alpine program will also see several leadership transitions aimed at strengthening the connection between the Weekend Program and Academy teams, particularly in the U12 and U14 age groups.
Kyle Hildebrand has been promoted to Alpine Youth Program Director and will serve as Head U14 Alpine Coach for the Academy while continuing to oversee the Alpine Weekend Program. Kyle is a graduate of Green Mountain Valley School and competed collegiately at Bates College, where he earned three All-American honors and captained the alpine team. His coaching experience includes leadership roles with Windham Mountain Club Racing, ELITEAM, US Elite Camps, and the CVA Weekend Program. Kyle and his family are longtime members of the Sugarloaf community.
Joining him is Jeni Conover, who returns to CVA as U14 Alpine Assistant Coach and Auxiliary Program Coach. Jeni brings more than 30 years of alpine coaching experience at top academy programs across the country, most recently at Rowmark Ski Academy in Utah. A graduate of Stratton Mountain School and former NCAA Division I athlete, she earned a degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Western Colorado University. Jeni is known for helping athletes develop both the technical and mental skills necessary for long-term success in ski racing.
In addition, longtime CVA coaches Jon Wagner, Ron Bonnevie, and Taylor Davis will transition into coaching roles with the U16 Alpine program, further strengthening athlete support throughout the development pipeline.
These additions and transitions reflect CVA’s continued investment in providing student-athletes with experienced leadership, strong mentorship, and a connected development model across all levels of programming.
Within the Freestyle program, Lynn Savage has been named Head Mogul Coach. Lynn will work alongside Moguls Coach Jesse Duncan and Action Sports Director Nate Mackenzie in a structure designed to strengthen continuity between the Weekend Program and the Academy. Together, the coaching staff will support athlete development across all levels of the freestyle pipeline while creating a more seamless experience for athletes and families.
Lynn has been a valued coach within the CVA Freestyle Weekend Program since 2018. A lifelong skier and former A-Level Mogul athlete, she brings extensive experience in both coaching and education. Lynn holds a master’s degree in education and spent more than a decade as a classroom teacher. Her certifications include Level 200 Freeski, Level 100 Mogul, and PSIA Level 100, and she also serves as an Eastern Freestyle B-Level Judge. In addition to her work at CVA, Lynn has coached with the Sugarloaf Ski and Snowboard Club and Copper Mountain’s Bump Busters program, and has also coached youth soccer and lacrosse.
