Student Spotlight Awards - January 2026
Each month, CVA celebrates students who exemplify the values at the heart of our community: kindness, respect, commitment, and gratitude. The January Student Spotlight Award recipients embody these ideals through their dedication, leadership, and willingness to support others, both on and off campus.
This month, we are proud to recognize three students whose actions and achievements reflect the very best of CVA.
Recently, Nova also took the initiative to organize the library space outside Alex’s office without being asked. The result is a welcoming, orderly space that benefits everyone who uses it. Her quiet leadership and attention to shared spaces demonstrate deep respect for the community and those within it.
Nova’s actions have a meaningful impact. She models the understanding that a strong community is built through small, consistent acts of care.
Beyond the results, Lucia’s work ethic sets her apart. She trains with focus and intensity, competes with resilience, and represents CVA with professionalism and respect. Her continued success reflects sustained effort, determination, and an unwavering commitment to improvement.
These three students represent different facets of life at CVA, yet they share a common thread: a dedication to personal growth and a positive impact on those around them. Whether in the classroom, in the dining hall, or on the international race circuit, Curtis, Nova, and Lucia demonstrate that excellence at CVA is defined not only by achievement but by character.
January Student of the Month: Curtis Dohan ’29
Curtis Dohan exemplifies academic commitment and a true love of learning. As a freshman challenging himself in advanced coursework, he has distinguished himself through consistently strong performance and thoughtful, detailed work, particularly in science labs.
Across his classes, Curtis sets goals and follows through. He seeks extra practice, welcomes constructive feedback, and uses it to improve. In English, he created a clear plan to strengthen his writing and has shown meaningful growth as a result.
Curtis’s disciplined, growth-oriented approach reflects CVA’s core values of commitment, respect, and gratitude for the opportunity to learn.
January Community Member of the Month: Nova Boyer ’31
Nova Boyer embodies the spirit of kindness and gratitude that strengthens our campus community each day. She regularly volunteers to help with dishes, even when she is not assigned to dish duty, stepping in simply because she sees an opportunity to help.

January Athlete of the Month: Lucia Littlefield ’26
Lucia Littlefield continues to demonstrate what commitment and grit look like at the highest levels of competition. She opened the season with strong momentum, earning 2nd- and 3rd-place finishes in U18 slalom and posting a 47-point result. She then carried that success to Mont Blanc, the highest-level regional race in Canada, where she earned two U18 bronze medals against a deep international field and posted 50s in both races. Most recently, Lucia took gold and silver at Pat's Peak in the National Junior Race Slalom, outpacing over 100 international competitors! She is currently ranked fifth in the country for U18 slalom.
