December Student Spotlights: CVA Values in Action

Each month, Carrabassett Valley Academy celebrates students who exemplify the values at the heart of our community—kindness, respect, commitment, and gratitude. The December Student Spotlight Award recipients embody these ideals through their dedication, leadership, and willingness to support others, both on and off campus.
Middle School Student of the Month: Molly Griffin

Commitment shines through in everything Molly does. Molly has been working hard across all of her classes and earning strong grades, demonstrating impressive focus and consistency. Her dedication to learning and her positive approach to schoolwork make her a standout in the middle school community. Molly’s effort and follow-through set a great example for her peers.

High School Student of the Month: Siena Arsenault

Respect for learning is at the heart of Siena’s success. Siena currently holds the top GPA in her class, a reflection of both her discipline and her love of learning. She is consistently focused and on task in class, producing top-quality work in everything she does. Siena’s intellectual curiosity and commitment to excellence set a powerful example for her peers.

Community Member of the Month: August Enos

Kindness and gratitude are hallmarks of August’s contributions to CVA. Even when she wasn’t able to participate directly with her team, August eagerly stepped up to support and encourage her teammates from the sidelines. She has also gone above and beyond by helping with CVA promotions and offering a helping hand wherever it’s needed around campus. Her positive attitude, generosity, and team-first mindset make her a true shining star in our community.

Athlete of the Month: Rocco Lazzaro

Commitment and respect define Rocco’s approach to both training and competition. After an especially demanding training block, his hard work paid off in a big way. In his first race of the season, Rocco surged from bib 30 to the top of his heat and went on to win both the U18 and FIS races. He followed that performance with another FIS victory at Stowe, earning 47 points. As of January, Rocco is ranked fourth in the country in U18 slalom and has qualified for a national project in Jackson Hole. Beyond the results, Rocco’s leadership and positive influence have strengthened team dynamics, making him a role model for his teammates.

Together, Molly, Siena, August, and Rocco embody the values that make Carrabassett Valley Academy a strong, supportive, and inspiring community. Their commitment, kindness, gratitude, and respect continue to set the tone for what it means to be a Big Dog.
