Each month, CVA recognizes students who embody the core values of kindness, respect, commitment, and gratitude. The May Student Spotlight Award recipients have distinguished themselves through academic achievement, athletic dedication, leadership, and service to others. Their efforts, both large and small, help strengthen the CVA community and make a positive impact on those around them.
May Community Member of the Month: Abigail Manson
Abby has made a meaningful impact on the CVA community through her leadership, service, and willingness to help wherever needed. She played a key role in organizing and supporting the water stop during the Sugarloaf Marathon and was instrumental in leading fundraising efforts for a member of the CVA community.
Abby is also a valued member of the Peer Mentors program, where she consistently demonstrates kindness and reliability for others. Whether supporting a community event or helping a fellow student, she approaches every opportunity with enthusiasm and a spirit of service. Her actions embody the values of kindness, gratitude, and commitment that help make CVA a stronger community.
May High School Student of the Month: Tatum Folger David
Tatum has distinguished herself through her dedication to academics and her willingness to support those around her. She consistently stays engaged in her coursework while balancing a busy travel schedule, including earning a high score on a math assessment recently, after independently mastering much of the material while away from campus.
Beyond her own academic success, Tatum is known for helping her classmates succeed. She regularly assists other students in the classroom, demonstrates patience and kindness when offering support, and has even organized study groups to help peers prepare for assessments. Her leadership, generosity, and commitment to learning reflect the very best of the CVA community.
May Middle School Student of the Month: Camille Cannan
Camille has distinguished herself through exceptional academic effort, consistency, and a thoughtful approach to learning. Even while balancing time away from campus, she continues to produce top-quality work and remains fully engaged in her classes.
She stands out across all subject areas for both her performance and her attitude. Working above grade level while continuing to excel in math reflects not only strong academic ability, but also a commitment to doing her best each day. In addition to her accomplishments in the classroom, Camille is known for being kind, thoughtful, and supportive of those around her. Her dedication and character reflect the values of commitment, respect, and kindness that define the CVA community.
May High School Athlete of the Month: Jasper Eiermann
Jasper brings a positive attitude and strong work ethic to every training session. He consistently arrives ready to work, willing to embrace new challenges and give his best effort, whether on the trampoline, climbing wall, or in the weight room.
His dedication has led to impressive progress throughout the year, including a remarkable increase in his pull-up performance from two repetitions to sixteen. More importantly, Jasper's willingness to trust the process and fully commit to his training has made him a standout member of the athletic community. His enthusiasm, perseverance, and commitment to improvement set a great example for those around him.
May Middle School Athlete of the Month: Miles Diffenderfer
Miles has earned recognition for his consistently positive attitude and strong commitment to training. He approaches every practice with enthusiasm and is always willing to put forth his best effort.
Coaches appreciate Miles's positive outlook and the energy he brings to the group each day. He is respectful and committed to improving his skills. His attitude and dedication reflect the values of commitment and respect, and make him a deserving recipient of this month's award.
