Meet the CVA Team
Kicking off the new school year means CVA has the pleasure of welcoming new staff members to the team. As new faces are added to the community, existing staff are stepping into new roles designed to strengthen our collective impact across departments. With the school year now underway, it’s exciting to finally have everyone together on campus and officially get the year started.
New Staff Announcements
The FIS women’s team has welcomed Jay Schwartz to the team, bringing his passion for coaching and athlete development to CVA. A graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington and former member of the UMF ski team, Jay brings a deep connection to skiing and a commitment to helping student-athletes achieve their goals. Having earned his Level 100 coaching certification and previously worked with the Kents Hill Alpine Center’s junior program, Jay is ready to share his enthusiasm for skiing and athlete development with the CVA community.
Joining CVA as an Assistant Coach is Austria’s Matteo Fleischmann. During his active career as a competitive alpine skier, Matteo was a member of the Lower Austrian State Team before joining the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV) Future Team. For the past three years, he has worked with the Austrian Ski Federation as a Ski Cross Head Coach, serving as Youth FIS Head Coach and Head of Youth Development. His goal is to inspire athletes, help them reach their full potential, and pass on the passion for skiing that has shaped his own journey.
Alongside these additions, CVA is welcoming previously announced new staff members and recognizing several coaches stepping into new roles across the Alpine and Action Sports programs.
Alpine Team
CVA’s Alpine program is entering the season with several leadership changes designed to support athlete growth across age groups. Kyle Hildebrand has been promoted to Alpine Youth Program Director, working alongside U14 Alpine Assistant Coach Jeni Conover to continue advancing the development of CVA’s younger athletes. Jon Wagner has been promoted to Head U16 Alpine Coach, joining Ron Bonnevie, Jeff Beauregard and Taylor Davis to provide additional support and guidance for the U16 athletes. At the FIS level, Adam Chadbourne joins the program as Women’s FIS Alpine Coach.
Action Sports Team
CVA’s Action Sports programs are also welcoming new leadership. Mazie Hayden has been promoted to Head Ski Cross Coach, while Lynn Savage joins CVA as Head Moguls Coach. Their expertise adds depth to the Action Sports programs and creates additional opportunities for athletes to grow across these disciplines.
Administrative Team
CVA’s administrative team has also seen several staff members step into new roles. Liz Cunningham stepped seamlessly into her role as Bookkeeper in the Business Office last spring. Lydia Barbie’s promotion to Director of External Affairs and Enrollment has streamlined administrative workflows across Enrollment, Marketing, and Development. Sam Calamari brings her creativity and passion for storytelling into her expanded role as Manager of Marketing and Communications.
CVA welcomes Jay and Matteo to the Big Dog Family and celebrates the staff members helping shape the year ahead. Together, this group brings fresh energy, experience, and expertise to the CVA community, united by a shared commitment to helping student-athletes thrive.
