CVA Student Spotlight November Awards

Each month, CVA recognizes students who embody the values that define our community: commitment, respect, kindness, and gratitude. These qualities shine not only in the classroom and on the hill, but in the way our students support one another and strengthen the spirit of CVA. This month’s Student Spotlight recipients exemplify what it means to be a Big Dog.
Student of the Month: Penny Riotte ’29

Commitment is at the heart of Penny Riotte’s success. Penny is excelling across her classes, maintaining a 100% average and earning high honors through hard work and steady follow-through. Whether she’s diving into Earth Science or staying on top of her History assignments, Penny shows dedication to doing her best every day. Her academic focus and consistency set a strong example for her peers and reflect the determination that helps our students thrive.

Athlete of the Month: Aidan Butler ’26

Aidan Butler models respect and quiet leadership within his team. This season, he has stepped up in meaningful ways, supporting teammates, keeping group goals on track, and doing everything asked of him without complaint. His maturity and positive attitude represent significant growth, showing what can happen when an athlete commits to personal development. Aidan’s steady presence and willingness to lead by example make a difference both on and off the snow.

Community Members of the Month: Ali Bruno ’26 and Sofia Murray ’26

This month, kindness takes center stage through the actions of Ali Bruno and Sofia Murray. The two showed heartfelt care and unwavering support for a teammate following an injury, demonstrating what it means to uplift others during challenging moments. Their compassion reflects the strength of our community and reminds us of the importance of looking out for one another. Their actions inspire gratitude in all of us who value connection as much as competition.

Together, Penny, Aidan, Ali, and Sofia showcase the qualities that make CVA such a special place to learn, train, and grow. Their examples of commitment, respect, kindness, and gratitude brighten our community and encourage all Big Dogs to lead with heart.
