Carrabassett Valley Academy athletes are back on campus, and they wasted no time setting the tone for a powerful year ahead. Preseason began with fitness testing, where student-athletes pushed their limits in strength, agility, endurance, and balance—proving that champions are made long before the snow flies.
At the Anti-Gravity Complex, freestyle and snowboard athletes impressed with high-flying flips and off-axis spins, combining power and precision that highlight the progress of their offseason training. Strength-focused sessions rounded out the week, ensuring athletes are not only confident in their performance but also physically prepared to rise even higher this season.
Equally important, CVA is placing new emphasis on mental performance. This year, the Academy introduced Champions Advantage, a cutting-edge mental skills curriculum developed by Olympians Doug Lewis and Shannon Bahrke. Drawing on strategies from their own Olympic journeys, the program equips CVA athletes with tools to strengthen focus, resilience, and confidence—the mindset of true champions.
