CVA marked the start of its 44th school year with Fall Registration Day on Sunday, August 31. This year, the Academy welcomed 69 new and returning student-athletes and their families to campus. The Big Dogs met with teachers, staff, coaches, and the healthcare team to prepare for the year ahead. We’re so excited to welcome back our returning families and to give a big Big Dog welcome to those joining us for the first time!

Amidst the busy day of orientation activities and moving into dorms, the CVA community paused to reflect on one of the school’s core values during the annual Gratitude Ceremony.
The Gratitude Ceremony is one of CVA’s most meaningful traditions. Coaches lead students through a gratitude exercise, writing down what they are thankful for as a way to begin the year with reflection and appreciation. Selected students read their notes aloud, while others shared theirs with their families.
The day concluded with a community luncheon at the Anti-Gravity Complex, bringing together students, families, faculty, and staff to celebrate the year ahead.
