CVA Parent-to-Parent Series

Been There, Done That: A discussion with CVA alumni parents on their experience supporting a developing athlete

When: Saturday October 7th, 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.

Where: Bill & Joan Alfond Competition Center, Sugarloaf

Parents of CVA students and graduates recognize that the world of competitive skiing and snowboarding is vast and ever changing and parenting a child who dreams of reaching the top can be daunting.  In order to build a parent support network and share information, CVA parents are hosting the first of a number of opportunities for parents to meet and learn from each other as well as industry experts.

On October 7th, a panel of CVA alumni parents whose children have reached the elite levels of their sport will share how their family navigated their child’s pathway to success. They will share what their fears were and how they overcame them, what role they played as a parent and what advice they have for parents new to the journey. Panelists will include parents whose children have achieved success at the World Cup, X Games or NCAA levels.
