Get Involved With CVA

No matter where life takes you, there are many opportunities to be an active member of the CVA community. Check out the options below to see which activity is right for you.

Class reps

Class representatives (reps) serve as an important point of contact between CVA and alumni, leveraging peer to peer relationships to help alumni network with each other and to help us stay in touch with all of you. Class reps keep alumni posted about upcoming events and recent CVA news via Facebook, email, and phone calls while also sharing alumni news and updates back with the folks at CVA.   With over thirty years’ worth of alumni now spread across the country and the world, the CVA alumni community has grown in size and diversity. Staying in touch is sometimes difficult so the alumni class reps help the extended CVA community remain connected.

We are actively looking for more class reps, specifically for the years of 1984, 1986, 1990, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2014. If you are interested in becoming a class rep or learning more about this program, please contact Assistant Director of Development and Alumni Connections Sarah Hinman at shinman@gocva.com or (207) 237-4471.

Attend/host a CVA alumni event

Alumni events give Big Dogs who are spread across the country a chance to come together, often in the home of an alumnus/a, and celebrate the CVA comradery. We have annual events in Portland (ME), Boston, New York City, and often out west in places such as Park City.

Upcoming/recent events: Learn about upcoming events and catch up on previous events by clicking here.

Host an event: We are always looking to expand our events. If you would like to host an event please contact Sarah Hinman.

Speak with a future Big Dog

One of the best ways to support CVA is simply to talk with prospective students about your experience at CVA and how it shaped your life. Families looking at CVA love hearing from Alumni and it is often the extra touch they need to join our community. To become a note writer, please contact Admissions Director Dawn Smith.

Join a Board Committee

Joining a Board of Trustees sub-committee is a great way to get involved on the ground floor of institutional operations and changes happening at CVA. We are always looking for more alumni to join the following committees: Finance, Alumni, Development, Investment, and Program. If interested, please contact Director of Development and Alumni Connections Kate O’Halloran.

Wear your CVA gear

You never know where or when you might run into another Big Dog, and wearing your CVA gear can make that connection even easier! Show the community your Big Dog pride by sporting one of the many options available from our school store, available here.
