Snowboard Skills and Athlete Development Camp

January 16-18, 2018  (Boarding campers arrive on January 15th at 4PM)

Sugarloaf Mountain, Maine

Join Snowboard Program Director, Alex Tuttle and CVA's High-Performance Director, Shelby Downing along with other CVA snowboard coaches for this skills development camp for snowboarders ages 10-15. Durng this three day camp you will:

  • Focus on the areas that contribute to optimal health and performance
  • Experience interdisciplinary training on the snowboard cross track, in the park, out freeriding and in our Anti-Gravity Complex 
  • Explore topics like nutrition, recovery, mental toughness, and fitness
  • Receive daily video analysis on and off snow

Athletes will study in a monitored study hall Tuesday-Thursday after skiing. They work independently on their homework they bring from their public school with the support of a tutor.

Athletes may be considered for boarding in our dorm if there is space available and he/she is 13 or older and has the permission of the director of student services.

Program Participant Prices:

For the 3 day camp: $555 as a day camper with a Sugarloaf pass.  $695 as a boarding camper with a Sugarloaf pass.

Prices listed are cash discounted prices for cash or check payments. Credit card transactions are at a non-discounted rate.

 

  • Day camper prices include training and the monitored study hall. Day campers must provide their own lunches
  • Boarding prices include training, lodging, monitored study hall and all meals
  • If you do not have a Sugarloaf pass, you may buy lift tickets for a total of $150 for the 3 day camp. They may be purchased during the registration process and the tickets will be given to you on the first day of camp
  • Full cost is refundable/transferrable up to 7 days before camp less $100 cancellation fee

Pre-Nationals Prep Camp

February 18-25, 2018  (Wed. the 21st will be a day off)

Join Snowboard Program Director, Alex Tuttle, for this late season preparation camp for athletes ages 12-16 who wish to prepare for USASA Nationals and other late season competitions.  During this week-long camp you will:

  • Learn valuable snowboard skills to prepare for late season competitions
  • Experience goal setting and learn the athletic process
  • Focus on areas that contribute to optimal health and performance
  • Experience interdisciplinary training on the snowboard cross track, in the park, out freeriding and in our Anti-Gravity Complex 
  • Explore topics like nutrition, recovery, mental toughness, and fitness
  • Receive daily video analysis on and off snow

AND... Enter a GS/SL competition at Sugarloaf on 2/24 or a Slopesytle competition at Sugarloaf on 2/25! Test out your new skills during these competitions while being coached by CVA coaches.  If you do not wish to enter either event, continue to train with CVA coaches for those 2 days.
