PreCalculus Students Learn Surveying

Four students from the PreCalculus class - Lance Dolan ‘22, Kai Glidden ‘23, Francois Meloni ‘23, and Cassidy Strunk ‘22- went to the top of Sugarloaf to perform a survey of the surrounding mountains.

They calibrated their surveying equipment, found the highest peak on each mountain, and took measurements that they will use to create a map of the Sugarloaf region with their classmates.

It was the perfect bluebird day for conducting the surveying, and the students did an amazing job on the project. They were all very engaged in surveying, a new and challenging activity that helped them to explore practical applications of mathematics.
