Remembering Jeffrey “Berger” Rosenberg

The Carrabassett Valley Academy community extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Jeffrey “Berger” Rosenberg, who passed away on January 13, 2026. Jeff was a deeply respected and much-loved presence in the Carrabassett Valley, and his loss is felt throughout the mountain community.
Jeff was known not only as a remarkable skier but as a mentor, friend, and steady source of encouragement. He had a generous spirit and an authentic way of connecting with people, whether on the mountain or off. He loved sharing his passions — skiing, golf, cooking, and music — and his enthusiasm left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Jeff was also a quiet supporter of Carrabassett Valley Academy, always backing the school and its mission in meaningful ways, often behind the scenes. He believed deeply in the importance of developing young athletes and strong character, and while he rarely stepped into the spotlight, his steady support helped strengthen the CVA community.

His influence on skiing in Maine, and on the values that guide programs like CVA, was significant and enduring. Jeff’s commitment to the sport and to youth development earned him recognition in the Maine Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame, but those who knew him best will remember him for the personal impact he made through mentorship, friendship, and example.

Jeff will be deeply missed and warmly remembered by all in the CVA community.
