Scholarship Bash, Raffle Tickets & Auction

Annually in February

Support the current generation of student-athletes through our annual Scholarship Event, which happens every February and is now our only fundraising event. Proceeds go directly to the scholarship fund which helps roughly half of our student-athletes attend CVA through financial aid. Funds are raised through the sale of raffle tickets, a live and silent auction, and our generous event sponsors. You can help support student-athletes by becoming a sponsor, donating an auction item, purchasing a raffle ticket, bidding in the auction, or volunteering to help with event activities.

Scholarship Bash: Success!

CVA held its annual Scholarship Bash on Saturday, February 22nd and event organizers deemed it a tremendous success.  The event, held at the Bill & Joan Alfond Competition Center at Sugarloaf, met its fundraising goal by raising $130,000 of scholarship support for CVA students.

CVA’s Head of School Kate Webber Punderson says she continues to be amazed, humbled, and truly grateful for the incredible community support for this event. “They say sometimes it takes a village to make things happen, but we say it takes a Valley, and what a Valley we have! From those who donated auction items, signed on as sponsors, bought raffle tickets, jumped in to volunteer, bid on items or just joined us for the evening, we hope every person involved takes great pride in knowing what a tremendous difference your support has made. Over half of CVA’s students receive financial assistance. Truly, our students would not have the CVA opportunity without all of you.”

Professional auctioneer Carrie Ervin, a Sugarloafer originally from Waterville, Maine, now living and working at Christie’s New York, did a masterful job of getting the crowd to bid generously on the 10 “live auction” items that included an Allagash fishing trip, a day of skiing with US National Ski Team Member and CVA alum Sam Morse, and a locker in the Alfond Competition Center.

Congratulations to Michele Melanson, mother of CVA student Kiernan Mann, who won the $10,000 cash prize.
