CVA's Ski Cross program has a tremendous track record of success, including numerous World Junior Championship nominations, USASA National Championships, Nor-Am podiums, Project Gold invitations and last season two CVA Ski Cross athletes represented the US at the Youth Olympics.

Passion for the outdoors, fun, and individual successes are important motivating factors for all winter sport athletes. At CVA, we encourage our Ski Cross athletes to define what they are a part of and, more importantly, what they wish to get out of each experience. In outlining these steps and involving each athlete in this process they become grounded in their own personal development. Athletes may now become part of the solution for their success and enjoy the experience with a broader sense of what they are involved in.

At CVA, we will guide as coaches, mentors and role models, and will seek the highest levels of motivation, determination, and hard work necessary from each athlete towards achieving their personal best.

The challenging terrain at Sugarloaf combined with our very own Seth Wescott–designed boarder/ski cross track provides the perfect environment to hone all of your racing skills. Seth is a CVA graduate who is a mentor and role model for all our students. We have created a comprehensive program mirrored after our world famous boardercross program and will provide all of the resources needed to help you push your limits and achieve your personal best.

Todd Johnson enters the role of CVA Snowboard and Ski Cross Program Director for the 2018/19 season.

Many familiar with the CVA Snowboard program will recognize Todd’s name, having spent several years previously as a coach at the Academy. Since then, Todd has expanded his coaching experience as Head Coach with Team Utah Snowboarding, Head Coach of the Belgium Paralympic Snowboard Team, and more recently as the Head Snowboard Coach at Hebron Academy in Maine. Todd is also a U.S. Army veteran and USSA/USASA Level 300 coach.

Todd began his coaching career under the guidance and mentorship of former CVA Snowboard Program Director, Mike Mallon. He has also worked closely with outgoing Director, Alex Tuttle over the past few years. Todd shares both Mike’s and Alex’s coaching philosophy on long-term athlete development and personal growth. His focus for his inaugural season as Program Director is to create a seemless transition for all snowboard and ski cross athletes, so they may continue focusing on their goals and continued athletic success.

Under Todd's direction, a full-time Ski Cross coach will be announced in the coming weeks.
