Typical Day

Carrabassett Valley Academy has trained the minds and bodies of 11 Olympians, 7 X-Game competitors, 18 NCAA and USCSA All-Americans, 27 national team members, 6 world champions and much more.  A key ingredient to our success as a leading ski academy and snowboard academy is the day-to-day commitment we make to academics and athletics.

7:00 AM  Alarm goes off. It’s snowing and from your window Sugarloaf is looking so sweet.
  
7:45 AM  Breakfast. French toast, eggs and sausage.

8:00 AM  Suit up and get ready to load the bus for the mountain.
  
8:15 AM  Board the bus, ride to the mountain.
   
8:30 AM After a good warm up your in the park. You want to nail that 450 on for this weekend’s competition.

12:15 PM  Load the bus for school and change into school mode.

12:30 PM Lunch

1:00 PM  School meeting and word of the day.

1:20 PM  English – Peer reviews and discussion on paper topics. 
  
2:20 PM  Calculus – Review for exam tomorrow.

3:30 PM  Advanced Biology – Present your report on the Genetics Seminar from last week’s field trip to Portland.
  
4:30 PM  U.S. History – Discuss the Industrial Revolution and get back your quiz.
  
5:30 PM  A few minutes to hang on the couches before dinner.
  
6:00 PM  Dinner. Mexi Night.
  
6:30 PM  Antigravity Complex skate park to play around in the bowl.
  
7:00 PM  Study Hall – French and Digital Media homework for tomorrow.
  
8:30 PM  Chill time – Ping-pong, pool, maybe a rail session in the backyard.
  
10:30 PM Sleep
   
The above schedule represents a typical, midweek, winter day for CVA student-athletes.

CVA Biathlon
5/15/2010

The Spring Student Fundraiser is a long-standing tradition at CVA. Students, staff and the community come together to compete iron man or in teams running 5 miles and biking 12 miles. Student athletes challenge themselves,coaches, parents and each other. Awards are given for spirit, creative costume, best times, family participation and more at the Spring Family Banquet Saturday night.
