What's Happening

Hello parents,

We had a great weekend with tons of sunshine, but the weather unfortunately did not feel like spring.  Nick and Barry went to the Burton US open, so I held down the fort this weekend along with our guest coach Alex Lund. Alex was a great addition to the team this weekend; he is a really strong rider and worked great with the kids.  On Saturday we kept things pretty casual and fun, with the season's winding down and a few of the athletes going out to Nationals this week so, I wanted to give them a lot of freedom and the choice of what they wanted to ride in the morning. With the crazy amounts of people at Sugarloaf for the race, the athletes chose to hike some of the new features that the park crew put in that were super fun and great to work on new tricks.  In the afternoon Rob and Barbaralyn set up a gates course on Windrow, and we trained on that for the afternoon.

Sunday we had some of the older kids from CVA and Chris Clark riding with us. The conditions were great; we checked out the super pipe then did some free riding on the trails off the quad.  For the rest of the afternoon we took park laps and worked on getting more comfortable hitting jumps, working on some new grabs, and looking good doing it. Next weekend will sadly be the last weekend of  S/CVA.  All the coaches will be back, and ready for a fun weekend.  On Sunday 3/31/08 there is a BBQ, everyone is welcome and we will be meeting at the bottom of the air hill above the Superquad at 11 for some food and fun.  I look forward to seeing you all there.

Sincerely,

Libby McCarthy

We’ll be having our first ever SCVA annual surfing session the second weekend of June (14th weather permitting) at my place in Old Orchard Beach. I’ll be in touch with details as to costs and formalities in the near future.

Sincerely,

Barry Tripp
