Ryan Poulin, Director of Human Performance
Ryan began his studies in Kinesiology at the University of Wyoming after returning home from the war in Iraq, where he honorably served as a Special Forces Reconnaissance Marine. He finished his undergraduate work at the University of Maine as a varsity track and field athlete, receiving student athlete academic awards and graduating with a BS in Kinesiology. Soon thereafter, he became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has since worked with collegiate athletes at St. Louis University, Bowdoin College, and the University of Maine. He has had the privilege of training National Hockey League professionals during their summer months and has also coached for Marine Special Operations Command in North Carolina. Most Recently, Ryan returned to the University of Maine where, while working on his Master’s in Science, was an exercise physiology lab assistant in charge of metabolic cart operations during all athletic testing. His master’s thesis research focuses on determining relationships between strength testing measurements and soft tissue injuries sustained during athletic competition. Additional certifications that Ryan holds are in USSA Alpine Skiing, USA Track and Field, and USA weightlifting.
