More than 20 years ago, CVA was the first academy to develop a program specifically for snowboarders. As snowboarding has continued to evolve, so too has the CVA Snowboard Program. CVA is one of the leading snowboard academies, and in the 2013 season 95% of our riders qualified for the USASA National Championships. Our student-athletes graced the presence of more than 30 podiums and were present at most of the major competitions in the US, including boardercross, halfpipe and slopestyle at USASA National Championships.

Among our distinguished graduates is Seth Wescott, a two-time Olympic Gold medalist. Seth lives in Carrabassett Valley and is very active in the Sugarloaf community.

Mike Mallon is CVA’s Snowboard program director. Under Coach Mallon’s guidance, his programs have been recognized as program of the year 3 times by the United States of American Ski and Snowboard Association. Coach Mallon is currently the president of the USASA and in 2002 was named Domestic Coach of the Year. To read more about Coach Mallon, click here.
