December 11, 2014

A small but very merry group of CVA alumni gathered in Tribeca at the gorgeous home of Damon Bayles ’96 and Clinton Kelly. We had a wonderful time reminiscing about CVA and getting updates on life and work. The party was made even more festive by Damon’s wonderful mother Casey making an appearance as well as by their sweet dog, Mary, who may not look it, but is indeed a stellar Big Dog!  We hope more of you can join us next year when we’re back in the city – we’re looking to possibly do this event in November instead. Give us a shout if you’d like to be involved: shinman@gocva.com

November 7, 2014

This year’s Portland event was a fun combination of casual conversation and high energy movie viewing. Ten alumni gathered at the Little Tap House to enjoy some snack and refreshments and swap stories about life in the Capricorn (basement flooding and skylight adventures were hot topics). We then ventured to the State Theater to view the ski movie “Almost Ablaze” by Teton Gravity Research – there was tangible excitement in the room with great anticipation of a very snowy winter.  It was a great night deemed “babysitter worthy” by those alums with kids at home. We are all looking forward to the next gathering of Big Dogs in Portland – likely in late Spring 2015.

This year’s event happened on October 17, 2014 at the Rattlesnake Bar and Grill in Boston, MA and was a great success! We had a strong Big Dog showing of 13 alums who had the opportunity to mingle with some alums from Killington Mountain School, Stratton Mountain School, Green Mountain Valley School, and Okemo Mountain School. A good time was had by all and we look forward to next year’s event!
