CVA’s competitive mogul program emphasize individual goal setting and hard work as the building blocks of success. A few of our notable freestyle team alumni include US Ski Team members Emily Cook ‘97, Dave DiGravio ‘05, Lance Field ‘02, Brenda Petzold ‘91 and development system team members Jeremy Cota ’07, Kristen Sweeney ’07 and a team of hard working young mogul riders.
Athletes in our program develop a work ethic that serves them well in their athletics and in all other areas of their lives after they leave CVA. Skiers in the Freestyle mogul program work hard year-round to achieve the high level of fitness essential to their success on the hill. In addition to participation on the regular CVA fall and spring sports teams, we have a standard program of dryland conditioning with a special emphasis on strength, power, agility, and anaerobic training.
Our state-of-the-art athletic facility, the Antigravity Complex (AGC), includes two Olympic quality, fly bed bungee trampolines with harnesses. The AGC provides our freestyle mogul athletes with the sport-specific dryland training they need to safely develop their aerial maneuvers in a controlled environment before taking those skills to the snow.
New for the summer of 2008 will be our own dryland jump facility - a one of a kind jump facility allowing our athletes year round air training.
Summer on-snow training camps on the glacier at Blackcomb in B.C., Canada and fall camps at Tignes, France or out west provide excellent off-season training opportunities for CVA Freestylers.
