Coaches

Nate McKenzie:
Head freeride coach and program manager Nathan Mckenzie is entering his 9th year with Carrabassett Valley Academy.  After attending the UMF ski industries program Nathan founded the Freeride program at CVA 7 years ago. Since then he has coached 6 athletes to the X Games and remains head coach to the longest running and best freeride program in the country.  Nathan sits on the board for eastern freestyle and is the freeride spokesperson for that organization.  His qualifications include Level I US Gymnastics, Level I USSA moguls, and level II USSA Aerials. 

Noah Labow:
Noah Labow returns for his second year as assistant freeride/travel coach.   Noah comes to us from northern Vermont, a graduate of Johnson State College. After years of newschool competition he coached at Sugarbush, VT before taking the Head Freeride coaching position at the  Smugglers Notch ski club. Noah is a level II Freeride coach with a true passion for our sport. 

Ron DiGravio:
Coaching for over 20 years Ron DiGravio is a level 2 aerial certified and level 1 mogul certified coach.  Entering his 10th season of coaching at CVA Ron is a lifelong mogul skier and Sugarloafer.  He is a former high school football and baseball coach.

John Grigsby:
A graduate of Maine College of Art with a BFA in Graphic Design­ John Grigsby coached the GSR weekend freestyle program for 5 years and the S/CVA Freestyle program for 2 years. John is also a level 1 mogul and level 2 freeride coach and he is now entering his second year of coaching the mogul team at CVA.
