Founded in 1982, CVA is a fully accredited co-educational boarding school for grades eight thru post-graduate located at the base of Sugarloaf in Maine. The Academy’s mission is to foster individual student development by providing the optimum balance of excellence in athletic training with a focus on skiing/snowboarding, college preparatory academics, and responsible living. Our program offers the opportunity for each student to develop fully his or her intellectual and physical potential through challenging academics and intense training and competition in alpine racing, mogul and freeride skiing, freestyle and snowboard cross snowboarding and big mountain skiing and riding.
Our students come from all over the world with aspirations to become members of national teams and win Olympic medals. Our teachers and coaches provide them with the opportunity to reach these goals. Notable alumni include: Olympians Seth Wescott (gold medalist in snowboardcross in 2006); Bode Miller (two silver medals in 2002); Brenda Petzold (bronze medal in 1998); Kirsten Clark, and Emily Cook. In twenty six years CVA has produced 10 Olympians, 71 National Titles, 16 NCAA and USCSA All-Americans, one overall alpine world cup title, two individual alpine world cup titles, 25 national team members, and six world champions.
In order to provide the best program possible each year the school engages in fundraising programs to bridge the gap between tuition and the cost of a CVA education. The CVA market offers companies the opportunity to meet their customers and potential customers at a lifestyle level; speaking to youth, families with children, young adults, and adults whose passion is skiing or snowboarding. Our objective is to work with companies to achieve their marketing objectives as sponsors. Sponsorships may include undesignated or designated cash support, payment of direct costs, in kind services or goods, or a combination of cash and in kind.

Gift in Kind Program
Another helpful way to support CVA is through gifts in kind. Gifts in kind are non-monetary tangible and intangible property. Below is a list of the types of items and services the school needs. Helping to secure CVA a discount on these items is also helpful. In some cases donation of items or services or discounts may be exchanged for corporate exposure in the form of sponsorship. We welcome many gifts in kind and are most grateful when donors think of us with this form of philanthropy.
