"Being at CVA with a group of athletes with the goal of making the U.S. Ski Team pushed us all to work harder on the mountain and in the classroom. The small school setting was such a great environment for one-on-one interaction with coaches and teachers.”

What's Happening

Well it’s hard to believe but this will be the last weekend for the 07-08 SCVA program.

What a winter we have had, near record snow fall and good skiing from Thanksgiving on, this is one to remember.

I hope all your little athletes had a great time with us this season because our staff had a blast with them.

Ok lets get down business, upcoming races;

    J34&5’s- March 29 & 30 SL & GS Spring Series @ Sugarloaf- Mara Cup Finals

    J12&2cd yr J3’s- April 5 & 6 SL & GS Spring Series @ Sugarloaf- Mara Cup Finals

    J12&2cd yr J3’s- April 12 $ 13 SL &GS @ Sunday River

The slalom race on March 29th will be Heroes for J5’s & 27mm for J3&4’s, it’s not possible to set three different SL courses so J4’s run the big gates.

Also 2nd year J3’s can race in this weekends races, don’t forget these are the MARA Cup finals, check on the MARA webpage to see where you stand.

Lots of nice prizes for the top ten in all age groups don’t miss it.

For those not racing we will have Hill Space;

March 29th- J12&3’s- SL 12-2pm- Hayburner(b)

            J4&5’s- SL 12-2pm- Lower Gauge(b)

March 30th- J1234&5’s- GS 12-2pm- Hayburner

If you are interested in skiing this summer I know Doug Williams is planning a camp @ Mt. Hood in June.  Depending on numbers Chip Cochrane & Sawyer Fahy may be going along with Doug, great staff sign up now.
Give Doug a call @ 207-237-4496 or e-mail him @ dwilliams@gocva.com

Anyone still interested in those Spyder insulators should get the order form to John Thompson or Joan Dolan by this weekend.

I would like to say thanks to my staff and the staff of the Comp Center for all their hard work and commitment to SCVA. Also thank you to all the mountain employees (ski patrol, safety patrol, ski shop, etc.) for keeping us all in line.

Enjoy what’s going to be a great spring skiing season.

Take care, Matt
