Welcome International Students,
I hope our website has been helpful in understanding CVA and all we have to offer as a ski academy and snowboard academy. Carrabassett Valley Academy is a place where like-minded students come together to focus on their sport and their academics, creating an environment that makes learning here so rewarding and rich. The following pages will assist you in the processes for applying to CVA as an international student.
CVA is committed to the success of its international students. The intensive and innovative English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program develops competence in all four areas of language acquisition - listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Support within and outside of the classroom may include one-on-one tutoring, customized enhancements to classroom material, shopping and cultural outings, digital learning, and vacation home-stay arrangements. Our snow sport programs provide additional opportunities for language practice and cultural immersion through extensive team travel. International students may pursue math and science at an advanced level while being sheltered in English and other reading and writing-intensive courses until their English language skills are more fully developed. Preparation for the TOEFL test and guidance in the process of applying to American colleges is available to more advanced students. There is an additional fee for the ESOL program.
International students complete the admissions process. Those families wishing to apply for financial aid may find the process and forms here at Financial Aid Philosophy.
The international application fee is US $150. Payment may be made by MasterCard, Visa, check, money order or may be wired. Please contact me for wiring instructions.
Within this section you’ll find all the forms needed to provide information to CVA regarding the issuance of an I-20, the document you’ll need from CVA once you are accepted to obtain your visa for entry into the US ( Canadian students need only the I-20 to enter the US).
Please contact me at dsmith@gocva.com or 207-237-4466. I look forward to working with you.
Regards,

Dawn Smith
