Middle School

At CVA we recognize that student-athletes in the middle grades have unique needs. During the years between elementary school and high school, young adolescents undergo profound changes in intellectual, physical and emotional development. These changes require a program and learning opportunities that are responsive to the developmental needs of 12-14 year olds.

With the opening of our new academic center in 2013 we expanded our Middle School to include 7th graders. Under the guidance of the Academic Leadership Team, CVA offers 7th and 8th graders the opportunity to meet high academic expectations with individual support for learning styles and focus with age appropriate activities and approaches.

7th and 8th graders are taught CVA’s curriculum in the primary subjects of math, Humanities (combined history and English), science and art . Upward mobility available for advanced students. Athletic training is paced based on the physical ability and needs of that age group.

8th graders may join us for the full year, fall/winter, winter, or winter/spring terms. The term for 7th graders is 4 months (November 27, 2016 to the end of our winter term, March 31, 2017). The 5 month winter term may be available for 7th graders based on age and circumstances.
